The arrangement is deliberately simple. The choice is a bunk bed or a single bed in a shared room. Power, water and gas are included. The room is furnished before you arrive and each bed has its own chest of drawers. There is no credit check, no security deposit and no lease to sign, and there is a $50 registration fee. There is no fixed end date either, so nobody is counting down your stay while you are trying to get steady.
Rent gets paid two ways here and neither one is treated as the lesser. Residents pay out of pocket, and Wellness Housing accepts General Relief through Los Angeles County DPSS, the DPSS Pilot Program and other third party rent assistance.
